Week 5 EOC: Tweets
I chose a tweet about Jaden Smith, talking about how he knew
he would never be understood even as a baby. He thought differently about life,
when he was a kid, everyone looked at him differently, he said. Therefore, he
made a clothing line. I chose this tweet because we have always known he is
different, he is Will Smith’s son, of course he’s different. He was raised
different than everyone else. He had his dad’s role model in life, so he would’ve
want to be like him or even better.
The other tweet I chose was another officer pinning an
African American woman down, with her feet in the air. The news said he did
without even questioning her or her doing anything whatsoever. I chose this
tweet because this has been happening a lot lately. And white people don’t care
obviously because they’re not the ones that would get pulled over for no
reason. The only reason being that they’re Black. And I’m not an African American
woman but I do have family that are and this bothers me a lot. Policemen think
that they can do whatever they please to just because they are police, and it’s
not right.
The third tweet I chose is about Donald Trump criticizing
President Obama and Hillary Clinton for actions he previously supported. In
2011, Donald Trump expressed support for the over-throw of Egyptian President
Hosni Mubarak and for some intervening action in Libya, despite his current
claims to the contrary. Trump on Monday criticized President Obama and Hilary Clinton
for supporting Mubarak’s overthrow and for intervening in Libya, even when they
uncovered two previously unreported interviews where he expressed those
positions.
Week 4 - EOC: Physical Attractiveness
In hospitality businesses they only hire attractive people
to represent the front of the business. In other words, to represent how clean
and good the business is. They also hire attractive people to bring in more
people, because when you see someone attractive in a restaurant, you will want
to go eat there to stare at them. Studies have indeed shown that
people attribute more intelligence and competence to taller, well-turned-out or
otherwise good-looking people. My opinion in all of this is that if you have an ugly guy or an ugly girl,
no one would be that interested in going in as if the person representing the
business being attractive.
Also, I would like to point out that being attractive is not
everything in life. You could be the most attractive person but have nothing to
offer. Yet you could not be attractive at all and have so much more to offer
than anyone else.

Week 2 - EOC - Sweet Charity - What she did right and what she did wrong.
In the movie Sweet Charity, Charity did wrong by not giving
herself credit whatsoever. She went and applied for a secretary job because she
didn’t want to keep working where she was. She also didn’t knock at the door,
she just went in to his office and waited till he was done talking on the
phone, which is a rude gesture and not professional at all. At one point she
didn’t let him ask more questions as she interrupted him. She said
"no" to everything he asked her. She said she didn't know how to
file, she didn't know how to answer calls, and stuff like that. Things that
anyone can do, she basically called herself an idiot. She should've answered
"no, but I'm willing to learn." Everyone who's anyone can learn
anything they put their mind to. As long as you really want that something
you're fighting for, do it. I don’t think she did anything right, honestly. She
went in his office without knocking or waiting outside even though he was
talking on the phone. She didn’t dress appropriately, according to all the
other women that worked there. She should’ve worn something more business-like
or at least sexier so she would’ve caught his attention somehow. She should’ve
scheduled an appointment first as well, instead of just showing up. she should’ve
went in before just to see what they did, what they’re all about, their dress
codes, etc.

Week 1 EOC - My Best and Worst Job
The best job I've had has been a Sales Associate at a
high-end retail store called Marciano which is by Guess. I loved my job at that
store, it was at the Caesars Palace location which was amazing as well since I
met very wealthy people that just bought over $1000 in clothing-wear. My team
in that store was amazing, we were like a family and for me that meant a lot
since I don’t have any family here in Las Vegas. I was so motivated and happy to
go to work, to see my family and just make them happy with my work. My worst
job was at the same store but as an Assistant Manager in Planet Hollywood which
at first I thought it was a great opportunity to gain more knowledge in my
field of study and plus a higher pay. I thought it was going to be better for
me and my future. It wasn’t, I ended up dropping school for a whole quarter
because I didn’t have time, I was always tired and didn’t wanted to do
anything. I was working full-time and going to school full-time, therefore my
time was very limited. I felt like they didn’t appreciate me at that location,
I’m the type that likes hard work and none of them worked, they fell into
complacency and just starred at their phones all day, these were managers too,
higher positions than mine. And that I didn’t like at all, I did all the work
for all of them. Then I requested Vacation time for three weeks to go visit my
family back home, I got it approved from the head offices, and then since we
were short staffed they called me so many times, me being on vacation, to see
when I was going back that they need me, that I shouldn’t of left like that and
so on and so forth. When I finally came back from my vacation, I quit.
Week 1 EOC - My Voice
My name is Karina Gonzalez, I am a Fashion Stylist who is
inspired by bringing the sexiness out of every person, make them feel
comfortable with who they are and what they have to offer. I like to style
every person depending on their body type and style. Sometimes their budget is
a struggle but there’s always something they can get with their budget. And
that is my goal, make them happy with what they bought and not feel limited
with it, own it and love it. I love when customers tell me that they haven’t
worked with someone so patient and understanding and just thank me for
everything. I love when customers leave with a big smile on their face because
they found more than expected. I am the kind of sales associate that doesn’t
look to sell the highest priced items, but what would look good in them and
what I think they would totally love.
